OVERVIEW OF THE INFORMATION SYSTEMS PROGRAM
The Associate Degree in Information Systems Technology program provides students with the training of CISCO networking infrastructure, desktop computers and peripheral hardware. This program plays a critical role in providing students with skills and knowledge to implement new IT technology.
PROGRAM GOALS
- Provide specialized theory, knowledge, and hands on lab in information systems principles and technology.
- Provide a flexible associate degree program that caters to full and part-time students who are working in industry and who want to improve their knowledge in networking, computer hardware, and software skills.
- Provide information systems knowledge and practice to students from other disciplines who have moved into the information technology sector.
- Provide CISCO certification programs for students who are working in, or plan to work in, the fields of networking (CCNA) and Computer hardware and software (CompTIA A+).
- Provide detailed knowledge and practice in the areas of computer networking and hardware architecture, database management, systems analysis and design and business.
- Provide state-of-the-art hardware and software tools for students to use in class projects, e.g. 12 routers, 6 switches, 4 hubs.
- Provide knowledge and practice in design and implementation of enterprise level networking.

Employment Opportunities: A wide variety of businesses are seeking network administrators, Help Desk Technicians, PC Maintenance and Repair Technicians, and Network Consultants. Demand for qualified information technology workers is expected to double in the next 5 years.
