FAIRMONT STATE UNIVERSITY ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
FIRST-TIME FRESHMEN
- Application for Admission
- Official high school transcript or GED (sent by high school or Department of Education)
-and- - ACT or SAT Scores
At least a 2.0 high school GPA and an 18 ACT composite or 870 SAT composite (SAT combined Critical Reading and Math scores)

At least a 3.0 high school GPA and SAT or ACT scores regardless of score

Effective August 2008, students in addition to GPA and ACT/SAT requirements, must successfully complete the following minimum academic core requirements prior to admission:
4 English (including courses in grammar, composition, and literature)
3 Social Studies (including U.S. History)
4 Mathematics (three units must be Algebra 1 and higher)
3 Science (all courses to be college preparatory laboratory science, preferably including units from biology, chemistry and physics)
1 Arts
2 Foreign Language (Two units of the same foreign language)
