Dear Colleague |
|
| I am writing to urge your prompt and generous participation in this year’s United Way campaign. Seldom will you find a more convenient and effective way to contribute to community well-being than through a contribution to the United Way. The United Way of Marion County supports 18 affiliated agencies that provide services as diverse as advocacy for children, shelter for the homeless, food for the hungry, safe haven for abused individuals, consumer credit counseling, and services for senior and disabled citizens. Your generous support touches, literally, thousands of fellow citizens in their time of need. Let me offer my personal assurance of the care and stewardship your contribution is given by the United Way governing board, staff, and volunteers. Affiliated agencies that benefit from your campaign contributions are annually reviewed to ensure maximum effectiveness in the use of your charitable support. Additionally, you can be assured that, because of very low overhead, almost all of your contribution is applied to services to citizens in Marion County. In these unsettled economic times, all of us who work at Fairmont State University have much for which we can give thanks. We individually and collectively lead our community and region through our educational and services activities, our economic impact, and our contribution to quality of life. Through our individual and collective participation in the United Way campaign, we further demonstrate our leadership and commitment to community well-being. Carol and I will give generously to the 2009-2010 campaign for the United Way of Marion County. We invite you to join us through a contribution that fits your means. Please join us in accomplishing one hundred percent participation, at whatever level, from the Fairmont State University community in this year’s United Way campaign. Thank you for your support. Sincerely, Thomas L. Krepel, President Fairmont State University |
The United Way is such an important part of making our local communities healthy and strong. Local families depend on the agencies funded through the United Way for services that help keep them whole. United Way agencies provide support to children and the elderly living in our communities. They provide programs that help individuals with disabilities, the homeless and those in need of food, victims of violence and abuse and those seeking credit counseling and financial assistance needed to make ends meet at home. The work of United Way agencies is always important, but in the current economy it is critical.
Thank you for your support.
