Occupational Education Component

An occupational education component (on-the-job training or supervised work-based learning) is comprised of paid or unpaid employment in a field that is associated with the student's degree, certificate, or skill set program. Employment is secured after consulting with the Program Coordinator/Advisor for the specific program in which the student is enrolled.  Upon completion of employment term, documentation of hours worked is provided to the student's Program Coordinator/Advisor and college credit is granted as per the documented hours-to-credits ratio. The number of occupational education components/credits required varies and is determined by each program of study.
