Pierpont Helps West Virginia Earn Top Five Most Improved State in Energy Efficiency

Charleston, W.Va. -- West Virginia has been named one of five “most improved” states in the American Council for an Energy-Efficient Economy (ACEEE) 2013 State Energy Scorecard thanks in part to training programs conducted statewide by Pierpont Community & Technical College. The annual report from the nonprofit organization ranks states on their policies and programs to promote energy efficiency.


Pierpont Inviting Third Party Comments for Reaccreditation Process

Pierpont Community & Technical College (formerly Fairmont State College established in 1974) is seeking comments from the public about the College in preparation for its periodic evaluation by its regional accrediting agency. The College will host a visit March 3-5, 2014, with a team representing the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association.

Pierpont Community & Technical College Educator Amber Myers Recognized

CHARLESTON, W.Va. – The West Virginia Universal Pre-K Collaborative continues to recognize the best Pre-K teachers in West Virginia. On Thursday, February 21st during the Celebrating Connection Pre-K Conference the West Virginia Department of Education (WVDE), West Virginia Head Start and the West Virginia Department and Health and Human Resources (WV DHHR) announced Amber Myers as the 2014 Universal Pre-K Outstanding Teacher.

WVU and Pierpont C&TC Partnership to Benefit Students

Students at Pierpont Community & Technical College will find it easier to transfer their credits into an online bachelor’s degree program at West Virginia University. A new articulation agreement that outlines what courses students should take in their first two years makes the transition seamless. Officials from both institutions signed the agreement Monday (March 24) at the Pierpont campus in Morgantown.
