FAIRMONT — Cats and dogs of the surrounding area are invited to a spa day at Pierpont Community & Technical College as part of the Veterinary Technology Program’s monthly pet wash today and Saturday. From 2-8 p.m. today and 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. Saturday In Hunt-Haught Hall, pets are welcome to receive a wash and dry, ear cleaning and nail trim by Pierpont’s veterinary technology students.
Pierpont Community & Technical College Board of Governors Vote to Amend Policies
FAIRMONT — Policies on sexual assault, campus solicitation and gift giving were presented to the Pierpont Community & Technical College’s Board of Governors Tuesday at their regularly scheduled meeting.
Mitchell is a graduate of Fairmont State University with a degree in Electronics Engineering Technology. In 2012, he began teaching at Pierpont in the Mechatronics program, which has evolved into the Advanced Manufacturing pathway of the Applied Process Technology program. Mitchell is Pierpont's certified instructor for the KUKA KORE robotics education program, preparing students for the automation wave of the near future.
School has started back, and seniors are already thinking about their next steps after graduation. One senior at Doddridge County High School, Joseph Heckert, has already started working towards his career, and his sites are set on the sky.
The Doddridge County Board of Education has paid for his textbooks and tuition to attend the Robert C. Byrd Aerospace Center. Heckert plans to become an aviation maintenance technician.
FAIRMONT, W.Va. — West Virginia high school graduates now have a guaranteed place to go to further their education post graduation. Pierpont Community & Technical College announced Tuesday that all recent high school graduates in West Virginia will be eligible to attend their classes without exception. The initiative is being launched to help college-going rates out of high school in North Central West Virginia.
ROANOKE, WV August 16, 2017 – New Board of Governors members from West Virginia’s nine community and technical colleges, as well as new members of the Council for Community and Technical College Education, made their way to Stonewall Resort and Conference Center last week for training for new board members and as an opportunity to share new ideas.
