Overview
The Medical Billing and Coding Program provides training in medical billing and coding. Medical billing and coding is the process of identifying diagnoses, medical tests, treatments, and procedures found in clinical documentation and then transcribing this patient data into standardized codes to bill government and commercial payers for physician reimbursement. Upon completion of the course, students will have successfully completed the first year of Pierpont’s Health Information Technology AAS program.

Classes are offered both online and in the evenings.
Upon completion of the first semester of the certificate, students will receive an advanced skill set in medical administrative assistant.
