EMT — Basic 

Doctors with infusion and oxygen taking care of woman after accidentThe Emergency Medical Technician – Basic program combines 150 hours of classroom and hands-on skills labs (hybrid) providing students the knowledge, skills and attributes to perform emergency medical care as an EMT-B for critical and emergent patients who access the emergency medical system and prepares graduates to enter the workforce. Students will gain complex knowledge, competency, and experience while employing evidence-based practice under medical oversight and serve as a link from the scene into the healthcare system. Graduates of this program will be eligible to take the National Registry of EMT-B exam. Students should possess good physical conditioning, strength and dexterity, have good vision and coordination and be able to respond quickly while applying critical thinking skills.

Students receive a textbook, classroom supplies, an on-site practicum, and NREMT Exam Voucher included in the course fee.

Upon completion of the training, students will be eligible to sit for the National Registry of EMT Certification (RNEMT) and the WV EMT-B Certification exam. 

EMT-B Exam cost is not included in the cost of the training tuition.

Training Cost: $950

Course payment is due 2 weeks prior to the start of the course.

HEAPS, WIOA and other Financial Aid are available for qualified applicants.
