The Learn and Earn program is West Virginia’s leading workforce development program, designed to integrate academic learning with practical work experience. Administered by the West Virginia Community and Technical College System as part of the Workforce Development Initiative, the program builds partnerships between local employers and community and technical colleges across the state.
Students enrolled at community and technical colleges across the state are matched with local employers in roles that are directly aligned with their academic programs. Participating employers are eligible to receive a 50% wage reimbursement for student employees who are earning at least $15.00 per hour while remaining actively enrolled.
The Learn and Earn program offers a valuable pathway for students to earn income, build career-relevant skills, and contribute to their local communities — all while completing their education. At the same time, it offers employers a cost-effective way to invest in the state’s emerging workforce and support economic growth throughout West Virginia.
