Vickie Findley is the faculty representative to the Board of Governors. She started her educational career with employment at Fairmont State College in 1992. Prior to that she worked for twelve years at a local healthcare facility as their health information director.
During Vickie’s tenure at the college, she has served in many positions. Currently she is the Program Coordinator for the Health Sciences degree and teaches in the Health Information Technology and Medical Billing and Coding programs. Previously Vickie served as the Program and Clinical Coordinator for the Health Information Technology program, served as President of the Faculty Senate. In addition, she had served as the Dean for the School of Health Careers and Health Sciences. Vickie received the Outstanding Contributor to Pierpont Community and Technical College for her commitment and service as the Faculty Assembly President in 2004. That same year she was recognized by the Board of Governors for her service and dedication.
She recently celebrated thirty-three years of employment with Pierpont. Vickie is an active member of the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) and the West Virginia Health Information Management Association (WVHIMA.) She has served on various committees and held office including President of the WVHIMA. Vickie received the WVHIMA Distinguished Member award in 2014. She has served on the Virtual Lab Committee with AHIMA.
Vickie is married to Mark Findley and reside in Bridgeport. They are the parents to two daughters and have 2 grandchildren (with another one is expected in April.) The family is complete with 2 dogs, 2 cows, and 4 horses.
