
Point of Care Technician: Hybrid at Braxton County

The Point of Care Technician course prepares learners to work with biological samples and perform medical laboratory testing in near-patient and medical laboratory settings. Learners will perform sample collection and various testing procedures in student laboratory sessions. Learners will be taught about medical laboratory regulations and industry-standard best practices. Point-of-care technicians are employed in hospitals, clinics, and physicians’ offices.
This course will have an in-person component at the Braxton County Campus in Sutton, WV. You will need to complete the Career and Corporate Training (CCT) Student Application.
Students receive a textbook and classroom supplies as part of the course fee. Upon completion of the training, students will be eligible to sit for the Point of Care Technician Licensure exam. The exam cost is not included in the training tuition.
