Expansion Offers Health Careers and Trades Training Locally

FAIRMONT, W.Va. – Pierpont Community & Technical College’s Office of Career and Corporate Training (CCT) is expanding its offerings to the Braxton County office in Sutton, WV. This expansion allows residents from the Braxton County area to learn skills in both the health careers and trades and technology fields closer to home.

“We are thrilled to expand Pierpont Community & Technical College’s Career and Corporate Training offerings at our Braxton County campus, providing targeted career training that directly aligns with the evolving needs of business and industry,” said Dr. Joni M. Gray, Director of Career and Corporate Training at Pierpont. “These new opportunities will support key sectors, including health careers, manufacturing, and cybersecurity, while offering industry-recognized credentials and NC3 (National Coalition for Certification Centers) certifications to equip our workforce with the skills needed for in-demand careers that drive our region forward.”

Initial offerings at the Braxton County campus will include health careers training in CPR, EKG, EMT–Basic, Phlebotomy, Point of Care Technician, and TEAS Prep. Training in the Trades and Technology career path will include Festo Electricity Series, FESTO PLC Series, and Snap-On Tools Series.

As a focus has been given to Career and Corporate Training, enrollment has grown year over year.
