Fairmont, W.Va. – The Pierpont Foundation will hold its second annual Day of Giving on March 14 to benefit the collective needs of Pierpont Community & Technical College.
The Pierpont Foundation, incorporated in 2014, has the express mission of providing funds to support the college’s mission to provide an accessible, responsive, comprehensive education that works for North Central West Virginia.
This year, Pierpont is celebrating its 50-year anniversary and is raising funds to continue the long tradition of providing students with the affordable and quality education they deserve.
Supporters of the college can choose from a wide range of support areas, including student scholarships and support. Donations can also be made to specific academic programs, including aviation maintenance, early childhood education, and the award-winning culinary arts.
“Donations to the Pierpont Foundation supports the essential role that community and technical colleges serve in the Mountain State,” said Natalie Tennant, chair of the Pierpont Foundation Board. “It empowers our students to excel both academically and professionally.”
The Pierpont Foundation also accepts donations for its Student Hardship Fund that provides monies used to assist students who experience unexpected financial difficulties due to unforeseen circumstances.
At its first annual Day of Giving, the Pierpont Foundation raised nearly $25,000 across all support areas. This year, the foundation expects to have even more success.
Donations to the Pierpont Foundation on the Day of Giving open on March 7 and can be made by visiting giving.pierpont.edu or mailing a check directly to the foundation at 500 Galliher Dr. Fairmont, WV 26554.
“Every dollar counts, and no donation is too small to make a difference,” said Tennant. “When we come together, we support the visionaries, the innovators, and the trailblazers for years to come.”
