Pierpont offers online tutoring through both Microsoft Teams and Blackboard/Tutor.com. Chat with a tutor on a variety of subjects to get the help you need online. Check out the steps below to get started!
Microsoft Teams
To use Microsoft Teams for tutoring, please follow the below steps:
- DOWNLOAD MICROSOFT TEAMS
You can download Microsoft Teams for FREE at: microsoft.com/enus/education/products/teams - LOGIN
To login, use your Pierpont username ending with @pierpont. Example: username@pierpont.edu - JOIN THE PIERPONT TEAM
- Locate the Pierpont Tutoring team. Select Teams on the sidebar, then a “Join or create team” button should appear in the upper right corner.
- Select “Join Team with a Code” and type in the code: m339t9w
- Finally, select Math or Writing to begin chatting with a tutor.
- CHAT WITH A TUTOR
You will be able to text chat or use Teams’ built-in video chat. Please note: anything typed in the channels will be publicly visible to the entire Pierpont community, so you should not include any private information there (including grades). If you are engaging with a tutor via text, you should create a private chat. For the Teams Tutoring schedule, please see below.*
Blackboard
Use Blackboard to utilize tutoring 24/7. Pierpont offers 24/7 tutoring through Blackboard and Tutor.com for free. Tutor.com offers tutoring in a wide variety of subjects. Your Blackboard home page has a link to Tutor.com in the Tools section. You can only use your free access if you use the Blackboard link.
