Fairmont, WV – A “Re-Fashioned” Fashion Show benefitting the Pierpont Community and Technical College Foundation and the Salvation Army of Marion County is set for Saturday, June 15 from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at Pierpont’s Advanced Technology Center in Fairmont.

Eleven models representing businesses and organizations throughout the region will don upcycled workplace and interview attire styled by students and alumni from Pierpont’s applied design program. The event aims to educate on eco-conscious, sustainable, and accessible fashion found in local thrift stores, consignment shops, and small businesses across the Mountain State.

“We are hoping to inspire members of the community who are entering the workforce by providing resources to build a professional wardrobe at an affordable price,” said Rachel Beach, Program Coordinator for applied design at Pierpont.

Proceeds from the event will enable both the Pierpont Foundation and the Salvation Army of Marion County to grow their impact and range of services available to students and families in North Central West Virginia through scholarships, student hardship funds, disaster response services, youth and veteran resources, and more.

“The Salvation Army of Marion County is always seeking ways to increase the number of people in our community that we can serve each and every day and how we can engage our community in what we are doing to raise funds to help more families in the region,” said Lewis Boyce, President of the Salvation Army Advisory Council. “We have a great group of models from Marion County and surrounding areas who are ready to walk down the runway and show what you can really do with thrifted, sustainable fashion. We plan on having a great time with great people dedicated to serving our community.”

“This event has brought together an outstanding mix of individuals who are perfectly suited to spearhead a one-of-a-kind fundraising event of this nature,” added Beach.

Standard tickets are $25 and cover general admission, access to auction and raffle items, and light refreshments. VIP tickets are $35 and provide front-row seating and access to the VIP Lounge with hors d’oeuvres and mocktails provided by Pierpont’s Culinary Academy.
